Privacy Policy and Terms of Use

Objective

The Revelstoke Community Housing Society (RCHS) respects and upholds an individual’s right to privacy, making every effort to protect personal information while in its possession. As a not-for-profit society, RCHS is subject to British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and the Residetial Tenancy Act. This legislation governs the collection, use, disclosure, storage and retention of personal information.

Purposes for Collection, Use & Disclosure

​The Revelstoke Community Housing Society requires an individual’s consent to collect, use, and/or disclose personal information to provide tenancy or assistance when necessary. The Society collects and uses personal information for the purposes for which it was collected. Individuals may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions. Withdrawal of consent may affect the Society’s ability to provide certain services or benefits.

Retention Policy 

​The Society uses reasonable security arrangements to protect personal information against loss, theft, unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, or modification. Personal information is retained to satisfy its intended purposes, including business, regulatory, and legal obligations. The Society will remove/destroy personal data that can be associated with individuals based on regulatory requirements.

Disclosure of Information

​The Society treats its obligations concerning the use and disclosure of personal information very seriously.  When required to do so, the Society’s disclosures to third parties are made following PIPA or the Privacy Act. Individuals who believe their privacy rights have been infringed may submit a written complaint to the RCHS Privacy Officer. If the issue is not resolved, they may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia. The Society does not sell, trade, or rent information to third parties.

TERMS OF USE AGREEMENT

Property Development, Rental Listings, and other data available on this site is intended for the private, non-commercial use by individuals. Any commercial use of any data in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, is specifically forbidden except with prior written authorization from the Revelstoke Community Housing Society.The Society makes no representations about the suitability of the data or graphics published on this site. The information is deemed reliable, but not guaranteed.

RCHS shall not be liable for any direct, incidental, consequential, indirect or punitive damages arising out of your access to or use of this site.
